Duncansburgh Church (2) – Inside
In the vestibule there are three window panels relocated from Vicar Street Methodist Church in Dudley, West Midlands. They reflect a long-standing connection dating from the late 1930s and Bert Bissell MBE, peace campaigner, which continues between the communities to this day with an annual visit. There is a peace memorial on the Parade, the grassy area in front of the church.
In the church itself there are many fine stained glass windows, including as a memorial to those who died in the two World Wars.
n the small lectern at the front left there is a Gaelic Bible, and
at the other side several English Bibles, reflecting the central
place of God’s word in our worship.
This place is not just a monument or a historic building – it is a
living working community of Christian people seeking to
worship God, to share good news and to care for our
neighbours. Please use this place to pray and reflect, and feel
free to join us for worship if you can. If there are other ways in
which we can be of help and support to you, contact details for
the ministry team are on the boards outside the church.
